Sharing community knowledge of climate change using multimedia approaches.

  • Alice Health Services is a Community Based Organization that seeks to identify methods that enable communities to mitigate the effects of climate change and learn to adapt. We plan to do this by launching workshops, radio and T.V programs involving the communities hardest hit by climate change based disasters to understand their process of adaptation and share it with the world.

ENHANCING PARTICIPATION AND EXPOSURE OF YOUTH GROUPS IN INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING

  • This project intends to bring together the youths from marginal areas of Tanzania so as to enhance participation and exposure of youth groups in information and knowledge sharing to adapt the impacts of climate change through a 3-days workshop

Improvement and expansion of the existing flood preparedness activities of the Red Cross in Togo

  • The project aims at reducing flood-induced damages and loss of life in flood-prone areas along Togo’s rivers by reinforcing the existing community-based flood preparedness -and early warning system implemented by the Red Cross during the past two years. One core component of this project is an awareness raising campaign via theatre plays, dances and chants which are publicly performed by local theatre groups and their broadcasting on local radio stations in the respective local languages.

Sustainable utilization of saline agriculture

  • Increasing soil and water salinity in many agricultural areas of the world due to mismanagement of irrigation practices, climatic changes, land degradation and drainage problems have caused a significant reduction in agricultural production all over the world. The project work aims to introduce innovative and integrated methods of land, water and plants to improve the agriculture sector through appropriate water management techniques and soil conservation practices.
